Health App Privacy: Face ID Lock and Sharing Controls

Your health record holds some of the most private details of your life. A few settings decide who can open CareClinic on your phone, what each person on your Care Team can see, and what happens to your data. Each one takes about a minute.

Lock CareClinic with your face or fingerprint

Worth turning on before you lend your phone to anyone, or hand it to a child.

1. Tap More and scroll to Preferences. The lock switch sits right after Appearance.
2. Turn on Face ID Lock. On a phone with a fingerprint reader, including Android phones, it is called Touch ID Lock and uses your fingerprint. If your iPhone has neither, it says Password Lock and uses your phone passcode. On Android the lock is free. On iPhone and iPad it is part of CareClinic Premium.
3. Confirm with your face or fingerprint when your phone asks.
4. From now on CareClinic opens to CareClinic Locked. Tap the Face ID or Touch ID button on that screen to get in.

No lock switch on your Android phone? Set up a fingerprint or face recognition in your phone settings first, then come back to More.

Tip The lock covers the whole app, so your journal, records and Care Team stay private even when someone else is using your phone.

Review who can see your data

1. Open the Care Team card on Today.
2. Tap each person and choose Edit Access to check what they can see and do.
3. Remove anyone who no longer needs access.

Manage your account

1. Tap More, then Settings, then Account Settings.
2. Use Edit Password to change your password and Edit Timezone if you move.
3. To close your account for good, choose Deactivate Account and confirm. This cannot be undone, so export anything you want to keep first.
