Lab results are easier to understand as a story than as a stack of printouts. Keep each result in CareClinic and you can see whether a number is moving the right way, and bring the original report to any appointment from your phone.
Add a lab result
Add results as they arrive. Your patient portal or the printout from the clinic has everything you need.
- Switch on Lab & Imaging if it is off: tap More, then the gear icon at the top.
- On Today, tap the Lab & Imaging card and add the result with its date.
- Values you check often, like cholesterol or HbA1c, can also be tracked as a measurement so they chart over time.
Keep the original report
The PDF from the lab has the reference ranges and comments your specialist will want to see.
- Tap More, then Documents.
- Tap the plus button and choose Upload Document for a PDF or Upload Image for a photo of a printout.
- Files are sorted into the Documents and Images tabs, ready to show or share during a visit.
Tip Ask for a copy of every lab report, at the visit or from your patient portal. A complete set makes changes over the years much easier to spot.
Import lab results from your hospital
If your hospital or clinic is connected in the Health app on your iPhone, CareClinic can bring your lab results in with their reference ranges.
- Connect your hospital or clinic under Health Records in the Apple Health app first.
- In CareClinic, tap More, then Integrations, then Import Records.
- Keep Labs selected, check the Date Range and tap Start Import.
The Import Medical Records guide covers every record type you can bring in and where each one lands.
Follow your biomarkers over time
One result is a snapshot. Several results in a row show the direction, which is usually what your doctor cares about.
- Tap Insights, then Biomarkers.
- Browse by Common Panels or Body Systems, or search for a marker. Results outside the range are flagged as out of range.
- Nothing there yet? Get Started offers Log a measurement, Add a lab result and Import health records.
Common questions
Can CareClinic read my lab PDF for me?
CareClinic keeps the PDF in Documents so it is always with you. Add the values you want to follow as results or measurements, and they chart over time.
Can I share a lab report with a new doctor?
Yes. Open it in Documents and share it by email or message, or add the doctor to your Care Team.
What does out of range mean in Biomarkers?
The value is outside the usual reference range for that marker. Bring it up with your doctor, who can tell you what it means for you.
