Blood Pressure and Vitals Log: Track Your Measurements in CareClinic

CareClinic › Getting Started › Blood Pressure

Home readings show your doctor what happens between visits, not just the single number taken in a busy clinic. Log your blood pressure, blood sugar or any reading you take, and CareClinic keeps them in order and turns them into a chart.

Log your blood pressure

Sit quietly for a few minutes, take the reading, then log it straight away so the time is right.

  1. Tap Check-in, then Measurements.
  2. Tap Blood Pressure and enter the Systolic Pressure and Diastolic Pressure. CareClinic warns you if a number looks mistyped.
  3. Taking the same reading again? Use last value fills it in for you to adjust.
  4. Tap Save Check-in.

Track any other reading

If your doctor asks you to watch a number, it can go here, from fasting glucose to standing heart rate.

  1. In Measurements, tap + at the top to open Add Measurement.
  2. Pick a ready one such as Weight, Pain or Energy, or type your own name and Unit.
  3. Add a Goal if you have a target, then save.
  4. The free plan holds up to 3 measurements at a time. CareClinic Premium removes the limit.

Weight

For heart, kidney and diabetes care, or a goal of your own.

Peak flow

A morning reading that warns of an asthma flare early.

Standing heart rate

Lying and standing readings for POTS.

Choose Number or Range for each measurement

Some readings are an exact number from a device, like glucose. Others are how you rate something, like morning stiffness from 0 to 10. Picking the right type gives you the right entry box and a chart that reads the right way.

Number

For an exact reading with a unit, such as 5.4 mmol/L, 72 bpm or 450 L/min peak flow.

Range

For a score on a scale you set, such as morning stiffness from 0 to 10. Turn on Positive polarity when a higher number is better.

  1. On Check-in, open Measurements and tap the name of a measurement you created yourself. Edit Measurement opens.
  2. Tap Type and choose Number or Range. For a Range, set the start and end values. The start must be lower than the end.
  3. For a Range, switch on Positive polarity if a higher score means a better day, such as how rested you feel. Leave it off for things like stiffness or nausea.
  4. Check the Unit, Goal and Reminder Notifications while you are here, then tap Update. Ready made readings such as blood pressure, weight, pain and energy keep their own type.

Get reminded to measure

Readings taken at the same time each day are the easiest to compare.

  1. When you add or edit a measurement, go to Reminder Notifications.
  2. Choose the days and time, such as every morning before breakfast, and save.
  3. The reminder appears on Today and stays open until you enter a value.

Tip Measure blood pressure before your morning medications and coffee, and again in the evening. Two readings a day at fixed times give your doctor a fair picture.

See your numbers settle

A chart shows what a list of numbers hides: whether readings are coming down since a dose change, and how much they swing.

  1. Tap Insights and choose the measurement, such as Blood Pressure.
  2. The summary shows your latest reading, your range, your average and the change over the period.
  3. On the free plan Insights shows the last 7 days. CareClinic Premium lets you look at 28 days or longer.

Common questions

Can readings come in from my blood pressure cuff or scale?

If your device saves to Apple Health or Health Connect, connect that in More, then Integrations, and the readings arrive in CareClinic. The Apple Health and Device Sync guide shows how.

Can I track blood sugar in mg/dL or mmol/L?

Yes. Choose the unit when you add the measurement, and every reading uses it.

What if I take more than one reading at a time?

Log each one. Every reading keeps its own time, and the chart shows them all.

Can I share my blood pressure log with my doctor?

Yes. Add your doctor to your Care Team, or bring a report from the Timeline to your appointment.
