Running out on a weekend or while traveling is stressful and easy to avoid. Tell CareClinic how many doses you have, and it counts down as you take them and reminds you to reorder while there is still time.
Enter how many doses you have
This takes a minute per medication, and you only do it when you pick up a new supply.
- Tap Check-in, then Medications, and open the medication.
- Enter Doses Left: the pills, puffs or injections you have right now.
- Turn on Refill Reminder. CareClinic asks for Doses Left first if the field is empty.
- Save the medication.
Let it count down
There is nothing extra to log. Every dose you mark as taken on Today or in the Medication Tracker comes off the count.
Without a count
You notice the bottle is empty the morning you need it.
With Refill Reminder
A Dose Refill Reminder arrives once fewer than 10 doses are left, in time to call the pharmacy.
When the refill reminder arrives
- When fewer than 10 doses are left, a Dose Refill Reminder says you are running low. It repeats over the next few days until you update the count. Tap it, and CareClinic shows how many doses remain, or Depleted if the count reached zero.
- After you pick up your refill, tap Update Dose and enter the new number of doses.
- No longer need reminders for this one? Choose Disable Refill Reminder.
Habits that keep the count right
- Mark each dose as taken, even late ones. Skipped marks make the count drift.
- Update the count the day you collect a refill.
- Add a 90 day supply as 90 doses, or 180 for twice a day.
Common questions
Does the refill count work for inhalers and injections?
Yes. Enter the number of puffs or injections as Doses Left, and each one you mark as taken counts down.
Can I change the count by hand?
Yes. Open the medication and edit Doses Left, or tap Update Dose from the refill reminder.
